What We Cover
Most boiler emergencies fall into one of these patterns. Tell us the symptoms on the call and we can usually have the right parts on the van before we set off.
No heating at all
Pump failure, frozen condensate, ignition lock-out, or a tripped PCB. Most are fixable on the day with parts on the van.
No hot water
Diverter valve, plate heat exchanger, or DHW sensor — the usual suspects. We diagnose first, replace second.
Boiler leaking
Pressure relief valve, expansion vessel, or pipework joint. We isolate the leak, drain down safely, and confirm the source before quoting the repair.
Pressure keeps dropping
Internal leak, failed expansion vessel, or a bleed valve passing. We pressure-test and pinpoint without guesswork.
Pilot light keeps going out
Thermocouple, gas valve, or flue draft. Usually a same-visit fix on most boilers we see across South Yorkshire.
Error code on the display
F22, F1, F75, EA — every brand uses its own codes. Tell us the code and the boiler model on the call and we can often pre-order the part.
When You Call
When you ring 01226 885022 you get one of two people: Danny or Adam. That's it. The whole point of being a small team is that you speak to the people doing the work.
A real engineer answers
You speak to Danny or Adam directly — not a call centre, not a booking app. We give you a realistic ETA on the call.
Honest triage on the call
If we think your problem is a 5-minute reset you can do yourself, we will tell you. We don't make money sending vans out to fix nothing.
Fixed callout fee
You know the call-out cost before we set off. No surprises, no "diagnostic fee" stacked on top of an hourly rate.
Diagnosis before quote
We diagnose the fault, then quote the fix in writing. You decide whether to go ahead. No work without your sign-off.
The Awkward Question, Answered
Fixed Callout Fee
Quoted on the call
We will tell you the exact callout fee before we set off — based on your postcode and time of day. No "diagnostic fee" stacked on top, no hourly rate that mysteriously balloons. Parts and labour for the actual repair are quoted separately, in writing, after diagnosis. You decide whether to go ahead.
The callout fee is deducted from the total if you proceed with the repair.
Our Pledge
We started this company because we kept watching people get told they needed a £3,000 boiler when a £40 part would have done. That isn't us. Here's what you will not get from Eco Heat Surge:
We won't tell you to replace if a £40 part will fix it.
We won't invent extra work to pad the bill.
We won't leave you without heating overnight if there's any way to get you running.
We won't use scary language to push a sale. Plain English, every time.
Right Now · Stay Safe
Four quick safety checks. The first one is non-negotiable — don't call us, call National Gas Emergencies. The rest will help us help you faster.

Boiler leaking water?
Turn off the boiler and the cold water inlet (the valve underneath). Put towels down. Call us — we'll talk you through next steps and head over.
No heat in winter?
Close internal doors to keep one room warm. Run hot taps occasionally to stop pipes freezing. We'll prioritise vulnerable households.
Pressure too low?
If you're comfortable doing so, top up via the filling loop to between 1.0 and 1.5 bar. If pressure drops again within hours, you have a leak — call us before it gets worse.
Realistic Timings
Once we've diagnosed the fault, here's what most repairs actually take. Real numbers from real jobs — not generous "we'll be here all day" estimates.
Times are typical for most domestic boilers. Older systems or harder-to-access boilers may take longer — we'll tell you on the day.

What South Yorkshire Says
"Job done in 48 hours"
Absolutely brilliant service from the team. I needed a job doing very last minute. The team responded immediately and booked me in straight away. From initial contact to job done was 48 hours. I couldn't recommend them more.

"Completed in a day"
Danny and his team from Eco Heat Surge replaced our faulty system heating boiler and the work was top class. Completed in a day and left everything clean and tidy afterwards. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

"Diagnosed clearly"
Had problems with getting hot water for a few weeks and Danny came out straight away and diagnosed the problem, which required replacement of the heat exchange plate. They explained clearly what the issue was and what was needed to fix it. Part was ordered and replaced in a couple of days. All work was undertaken without any mess or disruption — I would use them again and recommend them without hesitation.

Common Questions
Yes. We cover Barnsley and the wider South Yorkshire area for emergency boiler breakdowns. Call us on 01226 885022 and we will give you an honest answer on how quickly we can reach you. Response times vary with demand, and winter weekends are our busiest, but we will never leave you guessing.
In Barnsley and the S70 to S75 postcodes we aim to reach you the same day wherever possible. Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Wakefield are usually next-day priority. Winter weekends are our busiest, so the earlier you call, the better we can fit you in.
It depends on the fault and the parts involved, which is why we diagnose before we quote. We are upfront about the cost once we know what is wrong, with no call-out surprises added afterwards. If a repair is not worth it on an older boiler, we will tell you honestly rather than charge for a temporary fix.
You only pay the agreed callout fee, which we quote before we set off. If you go ahead with the repair, that fee comes off the total. We diagnose the fault and quote the fix in writing first, so you are never committed to work you have not approved.
First, check the boiler has power and the pressure gauge sits around 1 to 1.5 bar, as low pressure is a common and simple cause. Make sure the thermostat is calling for heat and the gas supply is on. If it still will not fire, switch it off and call a Gas Safe engineer rather than keep resetting it.
The boiler make and model, ideally from the badge on the front, plus any error code on the display and a quick description of what it is doing. With that, we can often load the right part onto the van before we leave and fix it in one visit.
If your boiler is under about ten years old and it is a single failed part, a repair is usually worth it. Once it is past twelve to fifteen years and failing repeatedly, repair costs add up fast on a unit near the end of its life. We give you an honest steer on the day, not a sales pitch.
We cover emergencies across South Yorkshire and do our best to help at weekends, which are our busiest times in winter. Availability varies with demand, so the sooner you call the better. We will always be straight about when we can realistically get to you rather than over-promise.
If you smell gas, see scorching, or your carbon monoxide alarm sounds, turn the boiler off, open a window and call the gas emergency line on 0800 111 999 straight away. For non-dangerous faults such as low pressure or no hot water, it is fine to wait for an engineer, but never ignore warning signs on a gas appliance.
